Functional Correction and Rehabilitation

This is simply the process of identifying the cause of your problem and attempting to reduce the effect this will have on you in the future. This may mean exploring the effect that your work, posture and lifestyle have on your spine and may include modification of activities such as running and sports via use of insoles (orthotics). Ultimately this will lead to giving you advice on how to strengthen your body so that the improvement you make is long lasting.

Activator

An ‘Activator’ is a hand-held adjusting tool that delivers a low force adjustment. It delivers a controlled and extremely fast thrust that is comfortable to the patient. It is especially useful when treating the smaller joints of your body, such as in the neck, hand and feet. It is also very useful in treating conditions where you may feel any pain you are experiencing is too severe to receive an adjustment.

Dry Needle Acupuncture

The term ‘dry needling’ is interchangeable with ‘acupuncture’. The word ‘dry’ simply differentiating it from the use of injections to inject substances into muscles for pain relief. Dry needling is effective for the relief of muscular and myofascial pain (myofascia is the strong connective tissue that wraps around muscle). Needles are placed at specific points in muscles that have become contracted and painful and which are contributing to the condition you are suffering with. This treatment may be uncomfortable at first, becoming less so as you undergo repeat treatments.
